A blog where elementary school teachers and students can share their favorite lessons and school experiences in an effort to make school fun and educational everywhere.

This drawing of the Big Bang Theory of Creation was done by one of my third graders (see St. Pete Times link in my favorite lessons). We use chalk, black paper, and glitter. When the posters were hung on the walls, the classroom seemed transformed. Children's imaginations are truly magical.
I am a horrible cook. Everyone knows it too. Neighbors feel sorry for my kids and invite them over for decent meals. My siblings don’t think it’s funny anymore and I won’t even get into what my mother-in-law says.
Teaching and cooking are similar; though I’m hoping one’s cooking skills can be markedly different than one’s teaching skills. Both jobs require plans, ingredients, intuition, and creativity. Good cooks have favorite recipes and good teachers have favorite lesson plans. Just like the ladies of Charleston, we need to share what we do best (we just won’t make any money from the process).
This blog is for sharing the lessons elementary school teachers and students love most. Please share typed lesson plans, news clips, artwork, narratives, or just a few bullet points. Please send ideas for grade levels K-6, any subject.
Once we have a collection of favorites, we can all start cooking. Thanks, Jeannie
